The flint slide continually
adjusts as the flint wears
thus giving a constant
visual reference.
The flint chamber springs
open when the slide is
pressed back and the new
flint is inserted in seconds.

A horizontal fitted spring
and screw enable the flint
to be quickly changed by
their removal. The remains
of the old flint are then
shaken out, the new flint
inserted, and the spring
adjusted to produce a spark.
